Q: What are zip and/or rar files and why do we need those
A: If you have bought DirectDownloads the files you download will be have the extension .zip or .rar. The DirectDownloads are mostly very large. They also consist of many files. To download them as they are would be very inconvenient. We have used a program called WinRar to pack all files into more easily handled "packs". To be sure that all systems can handle the files, in many cases each pack has been devided into several "parts".
Earlier we used a system that needed .zip files to work. Therefore some DirectDownloads parts has been turned into .zip files.

Q: What programs do I use for unpacking the rar/zip files
A: You can use WinRar (http://www.rarsoft.com/) if you are on a PC or StuffIt Expander (http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/) if you are on a Mac

Q: What do I do with the .zip files?
A: Use WinRar or WinZip if on a PC, or StuffIt Expander if you are on a Mac and unpack these to .rar files.

Q: How do I unpack the rar-files
A: First make sure that you have all the files. All files should have the same size, exept the last. That's a bit smaller. Put all rar files in the same directory and then unpack only the first, the one with "part1" in the name. The others will follow automatically. If the Download only consists of one file, there will be no "part" in the name.

Q: Do I need any updates for the instruments.
A: To be absolutely sure that you have the latest versions, visit http://www.sampletekk.com/updates.php and/or http://www.postpiano.com/support/listUpdates.php

Q: I can't unpack the rar-files?
A: The files are part of a package. You need to download them all completely. All files, except the last which is smaller, should be the same size. When all is downloaded, place all in the same directory and unpack only the first (part1). The others will follow automatically.

Q: StuffIt doesn't work on the files.
A: See to that you have the latest upgrade of StuffIt. StuffIt Expander is enough to unpack the files

Q: When unpacking I'm getting an error saying that there should be more parts. I've only got part1.
A: In your confirmation mail, and directly after you complete the purchase, you will get a link to the first part. Then you need to go to www.sampletekk.com/DDFiles.php to download the rest. It says so in your confirmation mail

Q: I'm not getting any confirmation mail.
A: Check you SPAM folder. For some reason it sometimes ends up there. If you haven't received any mail, contact us at info@sampletekk.com

Q: When I'm downloading a link, I'm only getting a lot of jibberish text
A: This is a problem with Safari browsers and rar-files. Please try Firefox, it should work. You can also try control-clicking and choose "Save file as…" if your on a Mac or right-clicking if your on a PC

Q: Does your samples work on other samplers that says that they can read the formats you support.
A: Our samples has been tested on Gigastudio, EXS24MkII, Kontakt and HALion. Those we can guarantee function on. There are other samplers that says that they can read these formats. We can not guarantee function on any samplers except the one listed above.
