ST Reed Organ

It huffs and it puffs, I don't know, it could blow your house down.
However, it will produce a charming noise that will work equally well for both hymns and whisky drenshed smoke-filled Waits type of songs.
It’s has an intimate voice with loads of charachter that will bring flavour to just about any kind of music, (ok, maybe not thrash metal…).

A reed organ is a small organ that produces the sound through reeds instead of pipes. Same way that for instance accordians and harmonicas does. The flow of air that is needed to produce the sound is often produced by foot-pumped bellows. The Reed Organ was very populare in smaller churches and in private homes in the early 19th century and several millions where made in the US alone between the 1850s and the 1920s. It’s a smaller organ, often with just one manual and few stops.

The instrument used for this library is an old, about 100 years old Reed Organ  I resqued this very fine example of a reed organ from simply being thrown away due to the lack of space of the former owner. She was a woman in her 70’s who was given the organ from her mother, who had got it one she was a little girl. So, with me counted, it has only had three owners. It has also never been stored in an attick or barn where mice and rats could munch on it, so it was in very good working order. The organ has a range from F0 – F6, but the keyboard is splitted in two halfs, yes, even in the beginning of the 20th century, they could make split keyboards! The lower half goes from F0 to B3 and the upper from C4-F6. Each half having it’s own stops and sound, so you can have one sound on the lower part of your keyboard and another on the upper.

  • 8 individual stops
  • Separate volume controls for each stop
  •  More the 400Mb of pristine 24 bit stereo samples
  • Doubler for the bass and treble ranks
  • Key and bellow noice for ultra realistic playing
  • EQ, Reverb and Tremulant controls

You'll need minimum Kontakt 4 full version. It will open in the free player, or with a player that came with another Kontakt instrument, but only in a demo mode. That means that there's a timielimitation/session.
