Rain Piano MkII

The Rain Piano was recorded after some extensive Tom Waits listening. Specially the ”Mule Variation” album, (great stuff!). I fell in love with the piano sound on that record and decided to make something in that line.

After long discussions with our piano technician:

Me: ”I want the piano to sound like it’s been out in the rain for a few days”

Piano Tech Guy: ”?????????”

We got a concept worked out where we set up the piano so that it would produce a lot more overtones but still be working with other, properly tuned, instruments.

That was about 10 years ago, and even though it was released as a straightforward, 16-bit sample library without any release samples, it became a kind of a synonym for character pianos. It has been used, and is still used on countless productions where you want something that adds a different flavor rather then using a ”normal” piano.

Since the samplers has been become more advanced and the Rain Piano still are one of our most popular pianos, we decided to bring it up to date and add some functions in the line of the original ideas.

So, we got the original master recordings out, (and they where in 24 bits), made some refinements to them and built the instrument from scratch.

We also added hammerback and pedalnoise samples and release samples.

Then we added our True Resonance feature and used Kontakts scripting facilities to make Real Time/True Pedaling, Sympathetic Resonance and some other nifty features, and, Voila: The Rain Piano MkII!

  • Up to 11 velocity levels
  • True Resonance ™
  • TimeVel Release Technology ™
  • Sympathetic Resonance
  • Controllable volume for key/pedal noise
  • Controllable volume for Sympathetic Resonance and True Resonance
  • 24 bit 44.1 stereo samples

Kontakt 4, (full version, it will open in the free player, but in a time limited/session mode)

If you don't have the full Kontakt needed to use Rain Piano MkII, you might want to check out Rain Piano, it*s based on the same samples, and have the same great dynamic response. Rain Piano comes in EXS24, HALion and Kontakt format. You can read more about Rain Piano here.

7CG MkII

The Seven Seas Grand, 7CG, was recorded at OAL studios in Stockholm Sweden using a Yamaha C7 Grand Piano. We used a matched pair of  Neumann U89 for picking up the sound of this great instrument.

The MkII

Since the samplers has been become more advanced and the 7CG still are one of our most popular pianos, we decided to bring it up to date and add some functions in the line of the original ideas. We also added hammerback and pedalnoise samples. Then we added our True Resonance feature and used Kontakts scripting facilities to make Real Time/True Pedaling, Sympathetic Resonance and some other nifty features, and, Voila: The 7CG MkII

  • 31 velocity levels
  • More the 4500 samples
  • TimeVel Release Technology ™
  • Sympathetic Resonance
  • Controllable volume for key/pedal noise
  • Controllable volume for Sympathetic Resonance and True Resonance
  • 24 bit 44.1 stereo samples

You'll need minimum Kontakt 4 full version. It will open in the free player, or with a player that came with another Kontakt instrument, but only in a demo mode. That means that there's a time limitation/session.

White Grand MkII

When making the White Grand the production goal was to make a sampled Grand Piano that would work great in a mix but also deliver the dynamic response of a real piano. Using SLH, a SampleTekk developed software made it possible for us to record different velocities very precisely and from that build an instrument that delivered the same dynamic as the real thing.
When we finished the White Grand, we had a sampled piano that didn’t just work in a mix, but worked on simply anything!

The MkII

Since the samplers has been become more advanced and the White Grand still are one of our most popular pianos, we decided to bring it up to date and add some functions in the line of the original ideas.
We also added hammerback and pedalnoise samples.
Then we added our True Resonance feature and used Kontakts scripting facilities to make Real Time/True Pedaling, Sympathetic Resonance and some other nifty features, and, Voila: The White Grand MkII

Singularis - Old School Recording Piano

In the 50’s, the recording studios weren’t what they are today.

A few microphones and few tracks on the tape machines made sessions a bit different then today’s workflow. Most of the music was recorded live with very few, if any, overdubs. This led to a way of recording that made a special sound, you can hear it on most recordings from the late 50’s through the first years of the 60’s.

The Singularis is an instrument that recreates that sound.

Through recording and processing, vintage analog equipment has been used to provide you with the sound of that magic era.

The Singularis is a part of SampleTekk’s “No nonsense, load and play” series.

The goal for these products is not to provide you with a fancy GUI, but to give you an instrument and a sound that is inspiring to play. There is a GUI for Kontakt 5 and above, but it's three knobs, (big ones...), and kind of black and white

Oh, and it’s in mono, since the 50’s was in mono, (and black & white…)

GUI above only for Kontakt 5 and higher

SFZ format tested on Sforzando - The free sampleplayer for Mac and PC. Both Standalone and Plugin

  • 16 velocity levels for pedal up, down and release samples. Total of 48 samples/recorded note
  • 44.1, 24 bit MONO samples
  • Over 2300 samples
  • Library size 2.73Gb

For Kontakt version, you'll need minimum Kontakt 4 full version. It will open in the free player, or with a player that came with another Kontakt instrument, but only in a demo mode. That means that there's a time limitation/session.

S.S.G - Small Studio Grand

The ST SSG – Small Studio Grand is a smaller Grand Piano, (6' 1") that give a tighter, more defined sound then a larger instrument. This instrument has depth and roundness in the bass register, rich midrange and a clear, crisp treble .

Download Package contains Kontakt, HALion, EXS24 and SFZ versions. The GUI above shows the Kontakt version. HALion, EXS24 and SFZ contains the same samples but does not have all the functionalities that the Kontakt version has.

Recorded in one of Swedens best room for acoustic instruments, using Neumann M269’s and Neumann M250’s ensures that the recorded material gives you the best performance possible.

With its 21-28 velocity samples, it give you the dynamic response needed for studio use, making this great instrument equally suited for pop, jazz, rock and all things in between!
